Friday, September 9th is the beginning of great eating at the 40th Annual Homestead Festival. The Princeton Jr. Women's Club will have pulled port barbecue and an ice cream social at Soldiers and Sailors Park 5-9 p.m.

Saturday, September 10th area residents can participate in the "Make It With Lard Pie Baking contest." Participants can deliver your pie to Soldiers and Sailors Park by 9 a.m. for judging and then participate in the auction at noon.

Wise Guys Bar & Grill has its third annual burger eating contest at 11:30 a.m. Can you eat a 1-pound burger with everything on it in less than 2 mintues and 31 seconds?

Also Saturday, Bureau County Pork Producers serve butterfly pork chop sandwiches and dinners at Soldiers and Sailors Park from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. After the parade stop by Alexander Park for pulled pork sandwiches and cold spirits to the sounds of the chicago Rhythm and Blues from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 11th brings the Princeton Lions Club Pancake Breakfast 7 a.m. - noon at the Princeton Moose Lodge, followed by the car show downtown and the Beta Sigma Phi Arts and Crafts Show on the Courthouse lawn, and nearby, the Pork Producers Tent for pork chop sandwiches 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
